A good thing about being a part of the Sunday life drawing workshop is that we get invited to the Ka ‘ike o ka Moana: The Knowledge of the Ocean art exhibit. It is to celebrate the national oceans month of 2016. The exhibit is held at the courtyard of the Honolulu Hale and is put together by the Mayor’s Office of Culture and the Arts. Other artists outside our group are invited as well. There are also other exhibits by the Waikiki Aquarium and NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration).

Last year we didn’t do this ocean themed show. We did the Mango Show Honolulu, which was part of the Mango Jam Honolulu festival to celebrate the mango. But it’s back to the ocean this year. The exhibit will be held from May 25 –…
