We had a pretty good model at today’s workshop and I tried a few different methods of sketching and drawing. I did my typical sumi ink wash sketches, then charcoal on white paper, black charcoal and white on toned paper, and also the three color chalk drawing. I thought it was a good day but I just need to keep improving. Length of poses may be one of the issues here where it doesn’t allow us to take our drawings any further but it’s how we’re set up and we just need to work around that. We’re always wishing we just had more time.
Here are some samples from today’s figure drawing workshop.
